Apartment Review for Orchard Springs Apartments - Oklahoma City, OK

I lived here for one year and I felt like I was in prison. They erected a security gate while I was there. Everyone had to show their licences, car title and insurance to get a sticker to get in this gate. Even our visitors were expected to do this. I ask the management how do you expect our visitors to do this on week-ends when you are not in the office? They replied by saying that- your visitors can come to the office during the week and pay a 25 dollar refundable fee and we will give them a sticker to get through the gate and when they want to hand it in they will get their money back. Is this not evidence of violation of privacy? They want to personally monitor all your visitors. They constantly harrased my visitors. They walked the parking lot and harassed my uncle who is a Harrah police officer, who are you? Who are you here to vistit? Why are you here? Do you know we have a curfew? This is another thing what in the world were they thinking when they are making a 10 o'clock curfew. We are adults. There is already a curfew for the kids by the city. If the kids are out after curfew then someone needs to call the police not make all the adults stay inside. While I lived at this complex there was 2 shootings with multiple victims(one dead). some of these bullets shot out our windows. There was also much property damaged with these shootings. The shootings were not and will not be prevented by instilling a curfew or a security gate. The gate always is broken cause people hate it. They purposely break it and they will continue to this, like they have done so far. This particular complex is in front of a heavy laiden gang neighborhood so, not much is going to stop the problems at this complex besides tear down the neighborhood behind the complex. I felt trapped the management would not let me out of my lease no matter what crime happened. I felt taken advantage of. I felt that the owners did not care about its tenants or they would let us out of our leases for our own safety. I believe persons with small children can get out of their leases by declaring child endangerment. You children our in danger if, you live there. I can prove this so, this statement is not slander. When i put in my notice to move they took forever to give me a reference to my new landlord. I suppose this was to try to keep me there. It did not work my current landlord finally, just signed my new lease without a reference from Orchard Springs Apts.
