Apartment Review for Village At Stratford - Oklahoma City, OK

If you are considering moving to The Village at Stratford, please take a second look and read all reviews. Management doesn't do a thing to keep this property clean or safe. Several buildings do not pass state inspections to live in and have been deemed unsafe. They advertise for community events, two outdoor "sparkling pools" and an indoor pool with a 24 hr access fitness room. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi have not worked in almost two years because management refuses to fix it. The only time the fitness room is accessible is during office hours. The front outdoor pool is rarely open due to damage that keeps getting done to the pool and equipment due to the caliber of people that rent the apartments. The back pool hasn’t been open in over a year. It is filled with green water due to the algae content and hasn’t been cleaned since last fall. The grounds of the complex are not maintained according to state requirements. There have not been any community events in this complex in over two years. Safety is also a concern in the complex. There have been two drive by shootings in the complex in the past year. Several cars have been broken into as well as petty vandalism. Maintenance upkeep is another large issue. Due to the lack of availability of funds, work orders sometimes take weeks to get completed. Ants are another issue. Due to the conditions of the buildings, the ants are after rotten wood and are invading several apartments. We have battled ants in our apartment for the last couple of months and was told by the management in the office that it was our responsibility to rid the apartment of ants. We have been told by management on several occasions that they do not have the money to keep the apartment complex in decent condition. Some of the tenants are wondering just exactly what the rent that we pay each month is being used for. This is no place for starting a family nor is it a place safe for young children.
